Hyderabad Cricket Grounds

Will try to maintain a list of Cricket grounds that have turf wickets and Grass (hopefully). If there is missing information we will try to add it later, Please leave comments with any additional ground information that you have or if you have feedback on any of the grounds that have been mentioned below.

Babukhan Arena - Gachibowli - Contact 924 732 7765 (Shareef)

This is a recent addition to the cricket grounds in Hyderabad and is one of the best available. Lush green outfield, side screens, decent batting wicket, plenty of clean drinking water, clean toilet (second one under construction) and a little stall that sells chai, biscuits etc. They even have a small volleyball court :). Priced at 13k for the whole day or 6.5k for half the day. The ground is about 3 km from the Microsoft of ICICI offices in Gachibowli.

Melgiri Cricket Ground ( MCG) - Moinabad - 9346239911 (Kannan)

Well Maintained full size ground. The reviews I got from the teams who played there were good and they mentioned that the wicket was nice and bouncy. Price is quoted at 10k for a full day.

Golconda Cricket Club - Moinabad - Contact 998 593 1033 (Anwar)

This ground is a little far but for a cricket enthusiast a good ground to play cricket. The outfield is a bit patchy but not too bad, the wicket quality fluctuates a lot though, we have had games here when 173 was not enough and also ended up defending 106 last time we played here. They do have a fridge which means you could buy cold water and the owner is trying to make constant improvements to the ground. For half a day the price is 3-4k.

D Lakeview Resort - Azeeznagar (near creekside school) - Contact 9959812600 (Sridhar)

Cost: 10k for the whole day

Pros: Big ground with a 60 yard boundary which means there is a lot of opportunity to run 2s and 3s. Scorecard adds a nice touch.

Cons: looks like the grass on the pitch is wild grass due to which the bounce isnt great, no side-screen yet but it is going to be put up as per the groundsman. Outfield kinda slow.

BMR Cricket academy - Bairagiguda Village (near Tipu bridge) - Contact 9949966143, 9391366143, 959960007

Gurukul - Moinabad - Contact 909 927 8437, 988 502 3130

This cricket ground is inside the Gurukul school in Moinabad (no the principal is not Amitabh Bachan). It has a nice outfield and they were constructing a small stand and a couple of dressing rooms with toilets. There was no arrangement for clean water so don't forget to take some with you. The Wicket was on the slower side with the odd ball showing some low bounce. It is priced around 9k for the whole day. 

(9/14/2012)update:-  we played here last week and were extremely disappointed with the ground condition. The grass was patchy, holes in various areas of the ground & the pitch was not flat with very bad and irregular bounce.

Short of playing in an international level stadium this is the best ground you can play at in Hyderabad. The lights here are awesome and would be an experience playing here at night. The Ground is pretty far but you could make a family day out because of the amenities available at the resort. The outfield is great and always well maintained and the pitch is a good batting wicket also. 

They charge 10k for the whole day and 18k for night matches.

Sarojini Cricket ground - Baghlingampally - Mobile:9848791060 (Kiran Reddy)

This is a cricket academy which has been running for over 35 years and also has a cricket ground which has lights and grass. I haven't played here so cant give too much feedback. The price is 2500 per hour in the night. 

TKR Cricket Ground - Meerpet - 9866700432 (Johnson)

One of my friends spoke very highly of this ground, good green outfield, nice pitch and lights. It is priced fairly high at 12k per day.
